Hopefully this list of FAQ's will clarify any questions you have regarding the cabin, area and reservation process. Please don't hesitate to contact us either by email or phone with any further questions. It's important to us that the cabin will suit your vacation plans.
How private is the cabin? Are there any neighbors?
The cabin is secluded in a wooded setting and you will not see any neighbors (nor will they see you) from the property.
How many people can it sleep?
The cabin comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests with a Queen size bed in 1 bedroom, a full over twin size bed in the 2nd bedroom and a futon sleep sofa in the living room. While it makes for a cozy, intimate space for 4 adults, anymore would be too crowded.
What is provided at the cabin and what will I need to bring with me?
The cabin comes equipped with most things you would need for your vacation: Full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, pots/pans/utensils, dishware, basic spices), firewood for the fireplace, washer/dryer in the basement, Charcoal grill, cleaning supplies, soap, blankets & pillows, games, video/dvd library, starter roll of paper towels & toilet paper.
You Will Need To Bring: personal toiletries, groceries, sheets & towels, laundry detergent, extra toilet paper/paper towels, charcoal/lighter fluid for grill, newspaper for starting a fire.
Recommended Items Include: Bug Spray, Bathrobe for getting in and out of the hot tub, music cassettes/cd’s.
Do you accept pets? What is the pet fee?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome (sorry no other pets) provided they are treated with flea/tic prevention, refuse is picked up and they are not allowed on beds or furniture at any time. There is a $10 per day/per pet fee. Our canine guests love hiking the woods, taking a dip in the pond and lounging outside on the lawn.
What are check-in/check out times? Can I arrive earlier or leave later?
Check-in is @ 4pm and check out is @ 11am. We are often booked back to back and our caretaker needs time to properly service the cabin between rentals. Earlier check-in or later check out may be arranged as long as there isn’t another guest checking out on your arrival day or checking in on your departure day.
How do I make a reservation?
The $200 refundable security deposit is due at time of reservation to hold your dates. You also will need to provide your full contact info (name, address, phone, email). A rental agreement will be emailed for you to sign and mail back with a check for the rental payment (due 4-8 weeks prior to arrival) along with a copy of your driver’s license for proof of age. For reservations made less than 3 weeks prior to arrival date, payment is arranged thru Paypal.
Can I pay with a credit card?
We are not set up at this time to take credit cards directly, but you can use your credit card through Paypal.
What is your cancellation policy?
There is a 60-day cancellation policy for refunds (minus a $25 administration fee) so please make sure your dates are firm. Cancellations made less than 60 days prior to arrival date are subject to a $100 cancellation fee and will only be refunded should the cabin be re-rented for the same dates at the same price. There are NO refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of your arrival. If you are concerned about a last minute cancellation we recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance.
How do I get the keys?
Once all payments and paperwork is received you will be emailed directions, info about the cabin and instructions for accessing the key. There is a lockbox right on the door with a code for getting the key so you can let yourself in.
How are the roads in the winter? Will I need four wheel drive?
Wintertime access on the roads to the cabin is quite good and our driveway is plowed/sanded in the winter. While 4-wheel drive is not necessary, this is the mountains and an AWD drive vehicle is recommended. Be prepared to shovel your way to the hot tub after a major snowstorm.
Will there be cell phone service? What about Internet?
Cell phone service is spotty at the cabin, that’s why we have an unlimited long distance calling plan on the phone (within the US only). Internet is available thru dial-up at the cabin and there are several wifi hot spots in downtown Littleton. You can also use the computer at the Littleton or Lisbon libraries.
Are there shopping/restaurants nearby?
The nice thing about the cabin is that it is secluded, yet not remote. You can get almost anything you need within a 15 minute drive to Littleton.
